Indian Air Force IAF Airmen Group Y Medical Assistant Recruitment 2026 – Complete Details
Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the official notification for Join Indian Air Force Airmen Group Y Medical Assistant Intake 02/2027 Recruitment 2026. This recruitment offers a prestigious career opportunity for young science graduates (PCB) and pharmacy diploma/degree holders to join the Indian Air Force as Airmen in Group Y (Medical Assistant) and serve the nation in one of the most respected defence services.
The online application process will start on 06 July 2026 and the last date to apply is 26 July 2026 (fee payment last date also 26 July 2026). The examination is scheduled for 22-23 September 2026, with Admit Cards available before the exam. The recruitment is open for two categories — (i) Medical Assistant for 10+2 Candidates and (ii) Medical Assistant for Diploma / B.Sc in Pharmacy Candidates — with different age limits and eligibility criteria for each category.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
Category 1 – Medical Assistant (For 10+2 Candidates):
Educational Qualification:
- Passed 10+2 / Intermediate / Equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as subjects
- Minimum 50% marks in aggregate in 10+2
- Minimum 50% marks in English separately in 10+2
- OR Passed Two-Year Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects — Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with 50% aggregate and 50% in English
Marital Status & Age:
- Unmarried candidates only
- Must be born between 01 January 2006 to 01 January 2010 (both dates inclusive)
- Upper Age Limit: 21 Years
Category 2 – Medical Assistant (For Diploma / B.Sc in Pharmacy Candidates):
Educational Qualification:
- Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English (minimum 50% aggregate and 50% in English)
- Passed Diploma / B.Sc in Pharmacy with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate
- Must possess a valid Registration from State Pharmacy Council or Pharmacy Council of India (PCI)
Marital Status & Age:
- Unmarried candidates: Born between 01 January 2003 to 01 January 2008 (both dates inclusive)
- Married candidates: Born between 01 January 2003 to 01 January 2006 (both dates inclusive)
- Upper Age Limit: 24 Years
📝 IAF Airmen Group Y Medical Assistant 2026 – Selection Process
Stage 1 – Online Written Test (INET)
- Computer Based Online Examination
- Subjects: English, Reasoning & General Awareness, Mathematics, Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
- Duration and marks as per official IAF notification
- Exam Date: 22-23 September 2026
Stage 2 – Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
- Running: 1.6 KM in 8 Minutes
- 20 Push-Ups
- 20 Sit-Ups
- 20 Squats
- Qualifying in nature
Stage 3 – Medical Examination
- Comprehensive medical fitness test at IAF designated medical centres
- Candidates must meet the prescribed physical and medical standards for Airmen Group Y
Stage 4 – Document Verification (DV)
- Verification of all original certificates including 10+2 Marksheet, Pharmacy Diploma/B.Sc Certificate, Pharmacy Council Registration, Date of Birth proof, Marital Status proof, and ID proof
Stage 5 – Merit List & Enrollment
- Final merit list prepared based on combined performance in all qualifying stages
- Selected candidates enrolled as Airmen Group Y – Medical Assistant in the Indian Air Force
